Live Together Shelter Hero

Overview

Birds in Paradise an elegant restaurant located in Seattle. I designed a responsive website for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Problem: Customers need a fast and easy way to look at the menu before they arrive at the restaurant. Some customers prefer to get their food delivered or pick up their food, and some customers want to make a reservation to ensure they get seated in a timely fashion without having to wait for a table.

Solution: This website for Bird’s in Paradise gives customers a fast, easy way to reserve seating, order food for pickup/delivery and look at the menu before arriving at the restaurant.

My Role: UX Designer and Researcher

Research

To conduct user research I began by interviewing 4 participants. Through these interviews I was able to identify common pain points, needs and preferences when navigating a restaurant’s website.

Pain Points

Limitied Time

Some users have busy schedules and need to pick up their food or have it delivered.

Solution

I will design a pickup/delivery feature on the website.

Limited Seating

Some customers who have busy schedules, or want to ensure they have seating for a special occasion don’t want to wait a long time for a table.

Solution

I will design a table reservation feature into the website.

Limited Healthy Options

It can be hard for consumers to find healthy, organic options when eating out.

Solution

I will design the website to offer meals made with organic, locally sourced ingredients.

Food Allergies

Some people have food allergies or choose not to eat certain items.

Solution

I will design the website with detailed ingredient lists.

Define

After my research was complete, I created a sample user persona to represent common user goals and pain points.
